# Manage linked institutions

> Manage linked financial institutions in Miyo by syncing accounts, resolving reconnect requests, reviewing access, or disconnecting a connection.

Use **Settings → Linked accounts** or the connections panel on **Accounts** to review each Plaid institution and the accounts it supplies.

## Understand the status

Each institution can show its current health, last successful sync, and imported accounts. A recent timestamp does not guarantee that your financial institution has posted every pending transaction.

## Available actions

    Requests a new sync for the institution. The action can take time, and newly imported transactions may appear after the account summary updates.

  <Accordion title="Reconnect" icon="plug-zap">
    Opens Plaid so you can repair an expired login, changed password, new multi-factor challenge, or institution consent request.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Update accounts" icon="list-checks">
    When available, reopens the institution connection so you can review which accounts Miyo should import.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Disconnect institution" icon="unlink">
    Removes the live Plaid connection and stops future syncs for every Miyo account listed under that institution.

## Disconnect an institution

<Steps>
  <Step title="Review all affected accounts">
    Expand the institution and note every account listed. Disconnect applies to the institution, not only the row you most recently viewed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Disconnect institution">
    Open the institution menu, select **Disconnect institution**, and read the confirmation message.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm Disconnect">
    Confirm only when you want all future Plaid syncs for that institution to stop.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Disconnecting stops future syncs. It does not automatically erase transactions already imported into Miyo. Use the available reset-data or account-deletion controls if you also want to remove stored records, or contact support for help.
