# Understand account visibility

> Set each Miyo account to shared, private, or hidden to control what household members see in dashboards, reports, and shared financial views.

Account visibility controls whether an account and its activity participate in household views. Review it whenever you add an account or change household membership.

## Shared does not mean joint ownership

Sharing an account in Miyo changes visibility inside the product. It does not change legal ownership, bank permissions, beneficiaries, or the institution's records.

## Check before you share

    Consider the account balance, transaction history, and how its inclusion changes household totals.

    The Privacy Center records visibility changes so you can understand when a setting changed.

<Note>
  In solo mode, there is no other household member to share with. Your accounts remain visible only to you until you create or join a household and choose otherwise.
