# Set up a household

> Set up a Miyo household by inviting a partner, confirming membership, choosing account visibility, and agreeing on a recurring Money Date routine.

A household lets members coordinate around the financial information they intentionally share. Joining a household does not automatically make every account visible.

  <Step title="Choose shared use">
    Review your relationship settings and select the option to use Miyo with a partner or household.

  <Step title="Create or review the household">
    Open **Household** from the sidebar. Confirm the household name and your current member list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send an invitation">
    Invite the other person using the email address they will use for Miyo. Pending invitations must be accepted before the person becomes an active member.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review visibility">
    Open **Privacy** and choose a visibility state for each account. Use the partner-view preview before you rely on shared totals.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Agree on a routine">
    Use **Money Date** as a recurring check-in for reviewing changes and deciding what needs attention together.
