# Protect your Miyo account

> Protect your Miyo account with a strong unique password, multi-factor authentication, recovery codes, and safe practices when contacting support.

Your Miyo account can contain sensitive financial information. Protect the email account and devices you use to access it as carefully as Miyo itself.

## Security checklist

* Use a unique password that you do not reuse on another service.
* Enable multi-factor authentication from your security settings when available.
* Store recovery codes somewhere separate from the device you normally use.
* Sign out on shared devices.
* Review unexpected verification or password-reset messages before acting.

## Multi-factor authentication

Miyo supports additional verification flows, including authenticator-based setup. Follow the enrollment instructions in **Settings**, then confirm that a recovery method is available before leaving the page.

<Warning>
  Miyo support will not ask for your password, authenticator secret, one-time verification code, recovery code, Plaid credential, or full bank account number.
</Warning>

## If you suspect unauthorized access

1. Change your Miyo password from a trusted device.
2. Secure the email account connected to Miyo.
3. Review household membership and account visibility.
4. Contact [security@joinmiyo.com](mailto:security@joinmiyo.com) with a description of what you observed.

Do not include secrets or complete financial account numbers in the report.
