# Frequently asked questions

> Quick answers to common Miyo questions about connected accounts, household privacy, budgets and savings goals, and how your financial data is used.

  <Accordion title="Is Miyo a bank or financial adviser?">
    No. Miyo is a financial organization tool. It is not a bank, broker, lender, investment adviser, tax adviser, credit counselor, or substitute for a qualified professional.

  <Accordion title="Do I have to connect a bank account?">
    No. You can add manual accounts and enter or import transactions. Connected accounts reduce manual work when your institution and plan support them.

  <Accordion title="Can my household see every account I add?">
    Not automatically. Account visibility determines whether an account is shared, private, or hidden. Review the Privacy Center before relying on household views.

  <Accordion title="Does sharing an account change bank ownership?">
    No. Sharing affects visibility inside Miyo only. It does not change legal ownership or permissions at the financial institution.

  <Accordion title="What is the difference between Simple and Advanced budgeting?">
    Simple mode uses monthly category limits. Advanced mode uses rollover envelopes, groups, and savings envelopes.

  <Accordion title="What is the difference between a savings goal and a budget target?">
    A savings goal tracks progress toward one total finish line. A budget category target guides how much to assign or keep available for recurring spending. [See the comparison](/goals/create-savings-goal).

  <Accordion title="What is the difference between Add another and Refill available?">
    Add another assigns the full target each period. Refill available reduces the next assignment by money already available in the budget category. [See the full comparison](/budgets/category-targets).

  <Accordion title="Does Miyo cancel subscriptions shown as recurring?">
    No. Recurring detection identifies patterns in transaction history. Contact the merchant to change or cancel the underlying service.

  <Accordion title="Are balances and transactions always current?">
    No financial data provider can guarantee that every value is complete or current. Confirm important information with the financial institution.
