A manual account gives you full control over the balance and activity. Use one for cash, an unsupported institution, or any account you do not want to link.

Add the account

1

Open the new-account form

Open Accounts and select Add Account or Add manually.
2

Enter the account details

Add an Account Name, optional Institution Name, Account Type, current balance, and three-letter currency code.Supported account types include checking, savings, credit card, investment, loan, mortgage, cash, and other.
3

Use the correct balance sign

Enter money you own as a positive balance. Enter debt, including credit cards and loans, as a negative balance or zero.
4

Add debt details when useful

For a credit card, loan, or mortgage, enter the available Credit Limit and APR (%) fields when they appear.
5

Save the account

Select Create Account. The account appears in Accounts and can receive manual or imported transactions.
Miyo does not refresh a manual balance. Update it yourself when a statement arrives or when you want account totals to reflect recent activity.

Edit or close a manual account

Open the account, then select its edit action. You can change its name, institution, balance, currency, credit details, notes, or status.
Closing an account is usually safer than deleting financial history. It preserves context for older transactions and reports.
